Woman Arrested for Having Open Intoxicant in Vehicle

Northville Township police arrested a woman for having an open intoxicant in a vehicle and cited a man for driving with a suspended license at 9:47 p.m. March 5 near the intersection of Seven Mile and Meadowbrook roads, according to a police report.
Driving westbound on Seven Mile Road, the officer saw a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria heading eastbound with its right headlight out, the report said. The officer stopped the vehicle and could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the interior, according to the report.
The officer found the driver had a suspension on his license, the report said, so he was handcuffed and placed in the back of the police car.

The right rear passenger was drinking out of a large Styrofoam cup, the report said. When asked what was in the cup, she said juice and Blue Goose, a type of vodka, according to the report. The officer asked her to step out of the vehicle and observed an open pint of Blue Goose on the floor where she had been sitting, the report said. The officer arrested her for having open intoxicants in a vehicle, according to the report, and she was handcuffed and placed in the police vehicle.
The second officer spoke to the left rear passenger who was found to have a warrant out of Westland, the report said, so the officer handcuffed him and transported him to meet Westland police.

Another officer arrived to transport the right front passenger to the Northville Township Police Department to wait for a ride from a friend, according to the report.
The driver, who was cited for driving with a suspended license, posted $160 on bond and has an 8:30 a.m. hearing April 24 at 35th District Court, the report said. The right rear passenger, who was arrested for having an open intoxicant in a vehicle, posted $150 on bond and has an 8:30 a.m. hearing April 24 at 35th District Court, the report said.
