225 Bags of Clothing Collected in Novi Library Clothing Drive

The community clothing drive was held May 14-19 at the . This drive was organized by the library’s student representatives, Nishant Kakar and Torry Yu, along with members from the library’s Teen Advisory Board (TAB), and local students from Rotary Interact clubs at Novi and Walled Lake Western High Schools.

All clothing was accepted, including shoes and linens, which has been sent to the in Novi for distribution to families in need. Community members donated clothing, which were then bagged for the church by our Interact volunteers on May 21 and 22. A total of about 225 bags of clothing were collected.

Next year’s community service project is currently underway and in the brainstorming phase. We look forward to working to set new goals and think about new ideas for this project with our TAB and Interact members, and also with Jessica Mathew who was recently appointed as a student representative for the library starting in June, who will join Torry Yu on the Library Board of Trustees.
