3 Injured In Christmas Day Crash In Oakland County: Sheriff
Investigators do not believe that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, MI — Three people were injured in a Christmas Day crash in Oakland County, according to the sheriff's office.
The crash happened at 2 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of M-5 and E. Maple Road in Commerce Township, according to officials.
Officials said a 32-year-old Walled Lake man was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion when he sped through a red light at the intersection and smashed into a 2025 Lincoln Navigator.

The man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Ascension Providence Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, officials said.
The driver of the Navigator, an 89-year-old man, also suffered serious injuries and was taken to Henry Ford Hospital where he was later released, officials said.

His seatbelt was improperly buckled, officials said.
A 69-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Navigator, was also taken to Henry Ford Hospital where she was listed in stable condition, officials said.
She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, officials said.
Investigators do not believe that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, which was still under investigation.
