Novi Doctor Appointed to Michigan Board of Medicine

President and Medical Director of Michigan Urgent Care and Novi resident Dr. Mohammed Arsiwala has been appointed by Gov. Rick Synder to serve a four-year term on the Michigan Board of Medicine.

The board oversees the practice of medicine of approximately 36,330 medical doctors and serves as the state’s licensing board. It includes 19 voting members: 10 medical doctors, one physician’s assistant and eight community members. Arsiwala will represent physicians. 

Nominated by State Representative and Speaker Pro Tempore John Walsh, Arsiwala demonstrates leadership and excellence in medicine.

“I am truly honored by this appointment. I received my medical education, got my start and have built my medical practice in Michigan. This opportunity is another way I can serve the citizens of Michigan,” said Arsiwala.  

As President and Medical Director of Michigan Urgent Care, Arsiwala operates a regional network of nine urgent care facilities across southeast Michigan, including , located at 44000 W. 12 Mile Road.

Arsiwala was recently recognized by the Detroit Wayne County Health Authority with a "Best of the Safety Net Award" for his commitment to improve the health of hundreds of persons in the greater-Detroit area. He also currently serves on the Michigan State Medical Society Board.

Arsiwala previously practiced in urgent care at Providence Hospital in Livonia. He earned a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from Osmania University in India and a medical degree from Wayne State University.
