Catholic Central Beats East Kentwood, Heads to Championship
CC will play Brighton for the state title Saturday night.

Detroit Catholic Central High School is looking to capture another state hockey title this year as the varsity team beat East Kentwood 8-0 Friday in the Division 1 semifinals at Compuware Arena in Plymouth.
CC will now play Brighton in the championship game Saturday at 6 p.m. at Compuware. Brighton (27-2-1 record) won the state title in 2012.
The Shamrocks have won seven state titles since 2000, most recently in 2010, according to the MHSAA website.
