Apartment broken into

An apartment on Spring Lake Boulevard was broken into sometime between 2 p.m. on April 5 and 9:30 a.m. on April 6, but nothing was stolen, according to a police report. The report said that the suspect broke into the apartment by prying the deadbolt lock. Once inside, the suspect opened one closet door and pulled it off the hinge, the report said. The closet contained only child’s toys. The resident said that it did not appear that anything else was moved or gone through in the apartment, the report said.

No evidence was found and no neighbors were home during the police report for an interview. The resident said she has no idea who did it, the report said. She said she did have a short-term roommate, who moved out on March 9, and that is the only non-family member who knows where she lives and knows her work schedule, the report said. The total damage to the front door and closet door is estimated to be $500.
