Crime Report: Car Window Smashed; GPS, Catalytic Converter Stolen from Cars

The following information was supplied by the Novi Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

A man reported that the driver’s side rear window of his Honda was smashed while parked at L.A. Fitness in Novi Town Center from 10-11 a.m. on June 25, according to a police report. The car was not entered and nothing was stolen, the report said. There are no suspects, witnesses or evidence, the report said.

GPS, CDs stolen from car

A man reported several items stolen from two of his cars from 1 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. on June 25, according to a police report. One car was parked in the driveway, while the other was parked in the street on Garfield Road, but both were left unlocked, the report said. The owner found the cars with their doors ajar and glove boxes and center consoles entered with contents strewn about the interiors of the cars, the report said. No damage was done to either car. A GPS and approximately 100 CDs were stolen from one car, while approximately 50 CDs were stolen from the other, the report said. There are no suspects or witnesses, the report said.

Catalytic converter stolen

A man reported that the catalytic converter was stolen from his car while parked in Clearwater Court sometime between 8:30 p.m. on June 16 and 2:30 a.m. on June 17, according to a police report. The man left the car in the parking lot of his residence and spent the night with a relative; his father came home at 2:30 a.m. and found the exhaust pipe was hanging from the man’s car. The car owner checked underneath the car and found that the catalytic converter had been cut off and removed from the Pontiac Sunfire, the report said. The converter is valued at $500 and no evidence was left behind, the report said. The case has been closed.
