Deerfield Elementary Adds New Second Grade Class

In a letter to Novi parents last week, Deerfield Elementary's new principal Julie Bedford said the Deerfield community is expanding. 

"Over the summer we have had over twenty new students register and I am confident this number will only continue to rise," she said in the email.

The school added a new second grade section to accommodate the growing school. Bedford said the new section allows class sizes to stay low. 

"As a result of this new section, we are now going through the process of hiring a new second grade teacher," she said.

Bedford said this change will mean a reconfiguration of the second grade classrooms. The school will notify second grade parents and students as soon as the process is complete, she said.
