Flood Watch Issued for Novi

The flood watch is in effect for Oakland County from 2 p.m. Wednesday through Friday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Novi and other communities in Oakland County beginning Wednesday afternoon.

According to the NWS, a frontal boundary extending north into Southeast Michigan could produce rain showers and thunderstorms in the area, dropping 2 to 4 inches of rain Wednesday through Friday.

The rain could lead to rapid rises on area rivers and streams, with the potential for flooding in some low-lying urban areas, the NWS reports.
