Gun Reported Missing from Gander Mountain; Laptops Stolen From Car
The following information was supplied by the Novi Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The store manager at in West Oaks reported that a handgun was likely stolen from the store sometime in the past month, according to a police report. The manager discovered the gun was missing while doing inventory on April 10; the gun was last inventoried on March 6, the report said.
The 9mm gun was on the top shelf of a locked display cabinet in the rear of the store, and the container and extra magazine were secured in another area, the report said. The manager said they did a complete search of the store, but could not find the gun, the report said.
The manager told police that he believes the gun was stolen, but not by an employee. There were no signs of forced entry or damage to the case, the report said. Each employee is required to sign out keys for the case, the report said.

According to the report, Gander Mountain staff is in the process of reviewing surveillance footage of the store and anything of note will be given to the Novi Detective Bureau. A few men were spotted on the footage leaning over the display case and looking at the back of it where the locking mechanism is located, but the video does not show them stealing the gun, the report said.Â
The missing gun was documented in the computerized Michigan police document system, the report said.

Airbag, tail gate stolen from F-150 after put on Craig's list
The owner of 12 Oaks Auto Sales on Grand River Avenue reported that the rims, tires, tail gate and diver’s side airbag were stolen from one of his F-150s parked in his lot between April 13 and April 16, according to a police report. The man had posted the car for sale on Craig’s List the week before, the report said. The police were unable to find any suspects, evidence or surveillance video. The owner has requested extra police patrol, the report said.
Tires, rims stolen from car in neighborhood
A resident on White Pines Drive reported that all four tires and chrome rims were stolen off his 2012 Chevrolet Suburban while it was parked in his driveway during the night of April 9-10, according to a police report. The car was a company car and was left on wooden blocks, the report said. Some lugnuts were left behind, but the police report said they did not appear to be printable. The case is now closed pending any further information.
Laptops stolen from car at Sheraton
Two men reported their laptops were stolen out of a car while it was parked at the on April 10 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., according to a police report. The men put their laptops in the car after attending a meeting at the Sheraton, then returned to the hotel, the report said. When the men came back to the car, they saw the passenger side sliding door on the minivan was open and their laptops were gone, the report said.
No damage was done to the car, the report said. The man told police that he used the key fob to close and lock the door; he said he did not see the door close, but assumed it had, the report said.
Both of the laptops were their company’s property, so they were able to provide the police with serial numbers to put in the computerized Michigan police document system.
The general manager of the hotel said he will be looking at surveillance footage and will get back to the police, the report said.
