I-96 Lane, Road Closures In Oakland County: What To Know

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — Road crews closed multiple lanes on Interstate 96 Wednesday ahead of a planned total closure this weekend for road work.

There will be only one lane open on the westbound side of the freeway from Interstate 275 to Kent Lake Road from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, according to road officials.

Then all eastbound lanes on the freeway from Wixom Road to Interstate 275 will close from 10 p.m. Friday until 2 a.m. Saturday, according to road officials.

After 2 a.m. Saturday, all eastbound lanes between Wixom Road to Novi Road will remain closed until 3 p.m. Saturday, according to road officials.

The lane closures are needed so road crews can add new lane markings and install overhead signs on the freeway, according to road officials.
