Milford Crash Kills 1, Injures 2

A police pursuit of a stolen vehicle led to a chase on I-96.

METRO DETROIT, MI — One man is dead and two others injured as the result of a crash on westbound I-96 near Kensington Road in Milford early Saturday morning. The crash occurred at about 4 a.m. after a police pursuit of what had been reported as a stolen vehicle.

The car was reported stolen in the area of South Milford Road and East Huron Parkway. Police spotted the vehicle and tried to stop it, but the driver failed to pull over and a chase ensued, WDIV-TV reported.

The chase ended when the driver of the vehicle lost control at the the curve at Kensington Road and rolled over. Three men in their mid-20s to early-30s were riding in the vehicle. One man was ejected from the vehicle, police said while the other two had to be extricated, the television station reported.

The men were transported to hospitals. One died of his injuries. Police are investigating to determine which man was driving the car. If the driver survived the crash, he may face charges, WDIV-TV reported.
