Northville Fourth of July Parade Info, Route Change

Here's what you need to know about the Independence Day parade.

Novi does not have its own Fourth of July parade, but luckily Northville has an Independence Day parade that welcomes everyone. Here's everything you need to know about the parade this year.

Basic info

The parade begins at 10 a.m. and usually lasts around an hour. This year's theme is "Let Freedom Ring!"

St. Mary Mercy Hospital sponsors the event, which is hosted by the Northville Community Foundation.

  • Floats
  • Plymouth Fife and Drum Band
  • Northville High School Marching Band
  • Army Band
  • Clowns
  • Paws from the Detroit Tigers
  • Shooter from the Plymouth Whalers
  • Vintage and classic cars
  • Bike parade
  • Pet parade
  • Monkeymobile
  • Herbie the Love Bug
  • Ghostbusters

Route change

Note that the parade route has changed this year to avoid on Main and Rogers streets. To bypass roadwork, the parade will not go down Main Street west of Wing and will not go down Rogers. The new route is as follows:

  1. Griswold Street to Main Street            
  2. Main Street to Wing Street            
  3. Wing Street to Cady Street            
  4. Cady Street to First Street            
  5. First Street to Fairbrook Street           
  6. Fairbrook Street back to Northville Downs  

Bike Parade

Children of all ages are invited to decorate their bikes and enter the bike parade. Bikes should be decorated before the parade and children should arrive by 9:15 a.m. at the northwest parking lot at Sheldon and Seven Mile roads. Children do not have to pre-register.

Pet Parade

Pet owners are invited to bring their dog, cat, bird, fish or any other animal to be in the pet parade. If you would like to march in the parade with your pet, you must pre-reregister by calling (248) 374-0200 or you may download the application.
