Novi Business Searches for $1K, Embezzling Employee
The following information was supplied by Novi police.

A manager of a Novi business accused an employee of stealing money from the store between May 8 and June 7, according to a Novi police report.
The manager of 10 North, 24555 Novi Road, said the woman embezzled $1,030 in cash from the store, the report said.
The manager said the woman was hired in May as a server and has been stealing money from the business since, according to the report. Any time customers paid for their tabs using cash, the woman would void out food or beverage items and keep the cash for herself, the report said.

However, only a amanger has access to pass codes needed to void out a transaction, so the manager is not sure how the woman was able to figure out the code, the report said.
The manager began investigating when a customer who had started a tab was going to pay using a credit card but decided to pay in cash, according to the report. The customer left his or her credit card behind so the manager looked up the tab and saw that all of the items were void, the report said.

The woman said she was shocked when she found out that she was accused of stealing money, according to the report. She said she is not responsible for the stolen money and that certain managers were looking for a way to fire her, the report said.
10 North said they would drop all charges if they were paid back the money, according to the report.Â
