Novi Camps Combine Education, Outdoor Fun for Kids

Cool activities, baby goats, a llama ... what do these all have in common? Novi's MSU Tollgate Education Center.

Children examine specimens under microscopes, paddle in canoes on the pond and visit barn animals.

These are just some of the activities across MSU Tollgate Education Center's sprawling outdoor campus, which bring visitors in direct contact with nature.

"Bats, Bees, and Butterflies" is one of a series of day-long camps in Novi at the MSU Tollgate Education Center. Instructors at the center, at 28115 Meadowbrook Road in Novi, teach interesting and unknown facts about the creatures. The camp is a new program this summer that enrolls about 40 kids. The MSU Tollgate Education Center is also open to drop-in visitors, six days a week. Spend time walking the trails, sitting by the water or exploring the gardens.
