Novi Civic Theatre Presents 'The Little Mermaid Jr.'

Tickets are now on sale for Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. presented by the Novi Civic Theatre. The show opens Friday, May 3 and tickets may be purchased online at cityofnovi.org or at the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Office located at 45175 W. 10 Mile Road.
In Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr., the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. First, she'll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince Prince Eric that she’s the girl with the enchanting voice. This musical is one the entire family can watch together.
This Novi Civic Theatre production involves 52 cast members, ranging in age from 7 to 17. In addition to two weekends of shows, the cast is also doing a special show on Monday, May 6 for Wixom and Parkview Elementary first graders. The students will see the show and learn about performing arts and the Theatre.
Abbey Scheidler of Wixom plays Ursula and said she has been enjoying her experience with the production.
“I love the show! Being a part of it has been so much fun," she said.
Abbey, a senior at Walled Lake Western has been performing in theater productions since she was 11.

“I have never played a character like this before; I have never played a villain. Developing my character has been challenging, but a lot of fun!”
The musical also stars Novi residents Austin DuBois, Lindsay Webster, Trey Richman and Sophie Psiakis.

Disney’s Little Mermaid Jr. performance dates and times are as follows:
- Friday, May 3 at 7 p.m.
- Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m.
- Sunday, May 5 at 2 p.m.
- Monday, May 6 at 10 a.m.
- Friday, May 10 at 7 p.m.
- Saturday, May 11 at 7 p.m.
- Sunday, May 12 at 2 p.m.
