Novi Energy Company Sends Crews to Assist With East Coast Power Restoration
Millions of people are without power during severe heat after storms hit the area.

ITC Holdings Corp., an electric transmission company based in Novi, has sent 63 utility crew members to assist in restoring power to customers affected by the recent storms on the East Coast.
Crews were sent from ITC's operating subsidiaries ITCTransmission, Michigan Electric Transmission Company (METC) and ITC Midwest.
As of Monday morning, around 2 million people on the East Coast are still without power after severe storms, according to an article in USA Today.

Novi Patch blogger Jennifer Bowman arrived in Virginia just before the storms hit and with the power outages and extreme heat.
The utility professionals assisting in the storm restoration include 30 from Michigan and 33 from Iowa, representing M. J. Electric and Hydaker-Wheatlake, contract labor companies employed by ITC in the maintenance and construction of electric transmission. ITC is keeping enough utility crews in Michigan and Iowa that are necessary to maintain optimal operations.

ITC is a member of two mutual assistance groups which work cooperatively to restore electric service in emergency events.
