The woman was pinned between two vehicles, according to a Livingston County radio station.

A South Lyon man is facing charges after hitting a woman with his car at a Brighton park over the weekend, according to radio station WHMI 93.5 FM.

Green Oak Township Police said they were dispatched to the Island Lake State Park Saturday afternoon for an injury caused by a vehicle accident, the station reported.

Officers found that the driver of an SUV struck a 36 year-old Novi woman from behind as she loaded her mini-van's trunk, according to the report. Witnesses told police the driver of the SUV had backed out of his parking spot and hit the woman, pinning her between the two vehicles.

According to the report, police said the 24-year-old South Lyon man was intoxicated and had open alcohol in his vehicle. He was arrested and lodged at the Livingston County Jail, pending charges by the Livingston County Prosecutors Office, the report said.

The woman received medical treatment on scene and was taken to a medical center for treatment, but her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, WHMI reported.
