The City of Novi Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department is thrilled to host artwork by photographers Cyndi Senatore, Kim Kozlowski and Zang Xu in the Atrium Gallery. The exhibit will displayed Friday, June 22
through Monday, July 30. A public opening reception is scheduled for Friday, June 22 from 6:30-7:30 pm.
Cyndi Senatore began an interest in photography about 12 years ago, then taking classes in 35mm film. Now she is focusing on digital photography. Her work has been seen in local juried art exhibits, in commercial print ads and webpages, and is posted on several stock photography websites.
Kim Kozlowski loves to photograph people and the relationships between people “I am inspired by everything from a fresh strawberry at the market to a beautifully set table,” Kozlowski said. "I love to capture beauty, people and the relationships between people. I enjoy the challenge of capturing the essence of a person.”
Zang Xu has photograhed as a hobby since he was a teen. “I feel as if I am looking through the window of time,” Xu said. “I find satisfaction in discovering beautiful vistas I can photograph. I feel a spiritual kinship with nature’s beauty.”
For many years in China, Xu photographed family members and friends along with documenting his travels. He personally developed all his own photos. Since moving to Ann Arbor, he has continued his passion for photography and developing. He now also scans and uses digital equipment along with current developing options. Shooting landscapes is his top passion.
Upcoming exhibits in the Novi Civic Center Atrium Gallery include “Forms to Figures” in August, pieces from Colored Pencil Society in October, and ArtsNovi in November. The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department is currently seeking artists for Novi Civic Center Atrium Gallery shows in 2013. Applications will be accepted through Sept. 30. Please contact Stephanie Schuetzler at sschuetzler@cityofnovi.org to request an application form.
