Police Arrest Two Women on Charges of Stealing from JC Penney

Novi police arrested two women June 7 on charges of stealing from JC Penney, according to a police report.

One woman is charged with stealing sandals and clothing valued at $52 and the other woman is charged with stealing Sephora makeup valued at $118 from the store at 27150 Novi Road, the report said. 

One woman was taken into custody while the other ran, but loss prevention officers were able to get both into custody, according to the report. The officer also found heroin needles in the purse of the woman who ran, the report said.

Police arrested both women and found two syringes and a heroin spoon and switchblade knife in one woman's purse, according to the report.  The woman said the needles did not belong to her but did belong to the other woman because they share the purse, the report said.

Police cited one woman for retail fraud and possession of a dangerous weapon and cited the other woman for retail fraud and possession of narcotic equipment, according to the report.
