Police Arrest Woman on Charges of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

Novi police arrested a woman around 2 a.m. Aug. 18 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to a Novi police report.Â
An officer saw the driver of a black Chevrolet Camaro make a sharp right turn onto Novi Road, the report said. The officer ran a check on the license plate and found that it was expired since April, according to the report. The officer stopped the driver near the intersection of Novi Road and Crescent Boulevard, the report said.
The officer could smell intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle, according to the report. The driver’s eyes were glassy and her speech was slurred, the report said. She said she was coming from Buffalo Wild Wings in Novi where she said she had three alcoholic drinks, according to the report.

Her preliminary breathalyzer test had a result of .146 percent blood alcohol content, the report said. The legal limit is .08 percent.
The officer arrested the woman for driving while intoxicated, according to the report. The officer searched the car and found a half full bottle of Smirnoff vodka under the passenger seat, the report said, so the officer arrested the passenger for having open intoxicants in a vehicle.
