Person Steals from Novi Woman's Car at Fuerst Park

Someone broke into and stole property from a Novi woman’s car Aug. 16 around 6 p.m. on Taft Road, according to a Novi police report.

The woman said she parked her minivan for the summer festival at Fuerst Park behind the Novi Public Library, the report said. She said she and her co-worker were carrying things to her booth, so she was not able to lock her vehicle, according to the report. About five minutes later, she said she went back to the car for more items and remembered pushing the lock button on her keys while heading back to her booth, the report said.

At around 8 p.m. she drove home and upon reaching home realized that her purse was missing, according to the report.

Someone stole her tan Coach purse with a blue stripe and strap worth around $200, her black and gray Coach wallet worth $70, $120 in cash, her driver’s license, credit cards and work and home keys, the report said.
