Start, End Times Change for Novi Schools in 2012-13 Year

The has changed the start and end times for the majority of schools in the upcoming 2012-13 school year, according to an email from Novi High School listserv. The email says the changes have been made to the transportation schedules to "better serve students and protect our focus on academics."

The time changes are as follows:

The only schools without new times are , and , which will continue to start at 9:05 and end at 3:51 p.m.

Novi High School will be starting at the same time but ending earlier during the day. Novi Middle School, Novi Meadows, Orchard Hills and Novi Woods will start and end a few minutes later each day.

The email states the following, "Several people inside and outside the district have studied the best options to address providing efficient transportation for our students (families) while minimizing the impact on instruction. We believe this is our best option. The adjustment of start and end times has no impact on State mandated (required) instructional hours; Novi Community Schools provides instructional time beyond the states minimal requirements."
