Student's iPod Stolen From Novi High School; Landscape Equipment Stolen

The following information was supplied by the Novi Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

A girl and her mother reported that teen's iPod was stolen from on June 7 between 1 and 2 p.m., according to a police report. The student left the iPod unsecured in her bag inside the locker room of the field house during sixth period and discovered it was stolen from her bag after class, the report said. There were no suspects or witnesses, and the case is closed pending new developments, the report said.

Equipment stolen from landscapers

A hedge trimmer and blower were reported stolen from some landscape employees while they were working on Carlton Way on June 8, according to a police report. A man told police that his employees were doing landscape work on both sides of Carlton Way near 12 Mile Road and they left a blower and hedge trimmer on the grass on the west side while the used other equipment in the area. A silver car was seen speeding away from the area toward 12 Mile Road around 11: 30 a.m., and it was discovered at that time that both items were stolen, the report said. The items were worth $300 each. The police checked the area for evidence or suspects, but none were found, the report said.

Carpet dryer stolen from apartment complex

A carpet blower, which is used to dry wet carpet, was reported stolen from the clubhouse of an apartment complex on North Hills Drive sometime between 9 a.m. on May 29 and 9 a.m. on June 8, according to a police report. According to the report, an unknown suspect entered the garage that is attached to the complex and stole the $160 blower, but nothing else. The report said the suspect probably entered the garage through an unlocked service door on the east side of the garage. There are no suspects at this time, the report said.
