Suspect in Cipriano Murder Has Criminal Past

say that Tucker Cipriano, the 19-year-old suspect in has a past that involves drugs. 

"(Cipriano) is not a stranger to us," Farmington Hills Police Chief Chuck Nebus said. "He does have a past that involves some drug history, and it's possible they broke into the house looking for money."

Tucker Cipriano and a friend are in custody in connection with the beating death of , as well as an assault on Tucker's mother and one of his 17-year-old twin brothers.

According to an article in the Detroit Free Press, Tucker Cipriano is on probation in Oakland County after a drug conviction in October, when he pleaded guilty to one count of possessing a controlled substance less than 25 grams.

Cipriano was sentenced in December to 153 days in jail, to be released in May with two years' probation, according to the article.

Cipriano wrote the judge of his case while in jail, asking if he could be released early if he joined the Marine Corps, and back in February the judge said he would consider it. He was released from Oakland County Jail on Feb. 24, but the Free Press says it was not clear why in the court files.

Cipriano stopped attending school in October during his senior year at .
