Weekend Planner: Flower Sales, Outdoor Concert and Memorial Day Parade

Looking for something to do this weekend in Novi? Here are some ideas:

  • Where: Northville’s outdoor stage in
  • When: Friday at 7 p.m.
  • Pricing: Free
  • Why Go: Northville's Friday summer concert series kicks off with a performance by the Northville High School Jazz Band.

Perennial Exchange

  • Where:
  • When: Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon
  • Pricing: Free
  • Why Go: Divide your crowded perennials, such as daylilies and hostas, and bring them to exchange for other plants to grow and diversify your garden and enhance your landscape.

  • Where:
  • When: Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Pricing: Free
  • Why Go: Northville's annual flower sale is celebrating its 25th year. More than 20 local growers and greenhouses will be selling ornamental accent plants, perennials, herbs, annuals, roses, shrubs, exotic plants and trees.

  • Where:
  • When: Monday at 9 a.m.
  • Pricing: $12 for the one mile run, $29 for the 5K and $34 for the 10K. Entrants who bring at least three cans of food will have their registration fee reduced.
  • Why Go: The entire family can enjoy a physical activity. The one-mile fun run/walk begins first, followed by the 5K and 10K. 

  • Where: Parade travels west down 10 Mile Road from Haggerty to the , where the ceremony will take place.
  • When: Monday starting at 10 a.m.
  • Pricing: Free
  • Why Go: Show your support for Novi's scouts, businesses and organizations by watching the parade, then stop by the Civic Center afterward for a ceremony honoring veterans. Children can also decorate their bikes and ride in the parade; they should meet at Holly Hill Plaza on 10 Mile Road near Haggerty Road at 9:30 a.m
