Fire Destroys Oakland County Home: Sheriff
There were no injuries in the fire, officials said.
INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, MI — Fire crews battled a house fire Thursday morning in northern Oakland County, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
The fire happened at 5 a.m. at a home in the 5000 block of Forest Valley Drive in Independence Township, officials said.
The upper level of the two-story home collapsed due to the fire, leaving almost nothing left, WWJ news reported.

Officials said the homeowners were not home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
Fire officials were still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
