First-Graders Elect Romney — But the Margin Was Close
Students at Eagle Creek Academy in Oakland Township exercise their right to vote.
Eagle Creek Academy first grade students hosted a schoolwide presidential election on Tuesday as part of an ongoing lesson on the election process.
The first grade students and their teachers, Mrs. Gamache and Mrs. Ciotti, created a voting booth outside of their classroom. Students were invited to fill out their ballots behind a screen, then place the ballots into a ballot box.
When the votes were tallied, Mitt Romney won by a margin of three votes.
