Friends of Rochester Public Library Winter Book Sale

Jan. 26-30 event features wide selection

The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library is getting the new year off to a big start with its winter used book sale set for Jan. 26-30. The bargains are all in the upstairs used book sale room of the library at 500 Olde Towne Road in downtown Rochester. (Facemasks are strongly recommended, but not required for all entering the library.)

Presale opportunities for Friends members will be Wednesday Jan. 26 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. (New member sign-ups and renewals are available at the door; see rhpl.org and click on Visit the Friends of the RHPL at the bottom of the page for details.)

The general public access is as follows (Note sale hours differ slightly from the library’s operating hours):

  • Thursday, Jan. 27, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Friday, Jan. 28, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 29, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, Jan. 30, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. (this is Bag Day where all you can fit in a standard grocery bag goes for $5)

What’s for sale? Chairperson Ann Gruenewald says “We have been getting lots of donations…. a great selection of books. We also have a huge selection of CDs for 50 cents each, and loads of DVDs.” ($2 for donated DVDs and only $1 for library-discarded DVDs.
