Man, 77, Dies After Crashing Classic Car In Oakland County: Sheriff
Officials do believe speed was a factor in the crash, but are unsure about alcohol or drugs.
OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI — An elderly man died after crashing his classic car in Oakland County over the weekend, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
The crash happened at 4:17 p.m. Saturday on Romeo Road, east of Rochester Road in Oakland Township, officials said.
Clifford Gilbert Finkle Jr., 77, of Bruce Township, was driving a 1966 Chevrolet eastbound on east on Romeo Road when he left the roadway and hit a tree, officials said.

Officials said Finkle had to be extricated from the car. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died two days later, officials said.
Investigators said Finkle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. They do believe speed was a factor in the crash, but are unsure about alcohol or drugs.

Investigators do not know why the car left the roadway.
Officials were still investigating the crash.
