Man Hit, Killed On I-75 In Oakland County: Police
Police said the man was struck by two cars in a construction zone after he got out of his crashed car.
GROVELAND TOWNSHIP, MI β A man was hit and killed on Interstate 75 in Oakland County Tuesday after getting out of his disabled car in a construction zone, according to Michigan State Police.
The crash happened at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near Grange Hall Road in Groveland Township, according to police.
Police said the 25-year-old Burton man was driving too fast for road conditions in the area and lost control and hit the right shoulder wall in a construction zone.

He then got out of his disabled car and stood in the left lane, according to police.
That's when another driver struck the disabled car, which then hit the Burton man and pushed him into the middle of the road where he was hit by another car, according to police.

The Burton man was killed in the crash, according to police.
Both drivers, who were not injured, stopped at the scene and are cooperating with investigators, according to police.
Police were still investigating the crash.
"I can not say this enough, stay in your car if you are involved in a crash," Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw said. "The pedestrian who was not hurt during the initial crash, ended up losing his life due to standing in the road after that crash. Stay in your vehicle, keep your seatbelt on and call 911."
