The future of Oakland Township-Lake Orion is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Mary Grace Larocca, who are making a positive impact in and around Oakland Township-Lake Orion.
Mary Grace Larocca is a standout young leader in Oakland County due to her exceptional academic achievements, artistic talent and dedication to extracurricular activities. As a finalist in the highly competitive 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program, she has demonstrated outstanding academic excellence, positioning herself among the nation’s top high school scholars. This prestigious recognition places her in contention for nearly $26 million in scholarships, further highlighting her commitment to scholastic success.
Beyond academics, Mary Grace’s talents extend into the arts and athletics. She was honored with a 2023 Scholastic Art Award for her drawing and illustration piece, Sleeping Bear, showcasing her creativity and artistic skill. Additionally, her participation on Notre Dame Prep’s swim team reflects her dedication to teamwork, discipline and personal growth.
