Oakland County Man Killed In I-69 Crash: Sheriff
Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
ATTICA TOWNSHIP, MI β An Oakland County man was killed in a crash on Interstate 69 in Lapeer County earlier this week, according to police.
The crash happened at 2 p.m. on the freeway near Winslow Road in Attica Township, according to police.
Police said 41-year-old Curtis Willis, of Clarkston, was driving a 2018 GMC Savana van west on the freeway when the van drifted into the median and then the eastbound lanes.

A 2012 GMC Sierra pickup truck then smashed into the van, according to police.
The impact of the crash pushed the van into a steep embankment, where it rolled over several times before stopping on the driver's side in a wooded area, according to police.

Police said Willis was killed in the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to police.
The pickup driver, a 71-year-old Kinde man, was not injured in the crash and declined medical treatment at the scene, according to police.
His two passengers, men ages 70 and 72, also declined medical treatment at the scene, according to police.
Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. They also do not know why the van drifted across lanes on the freeway.
