Taxi Driver Hit in Head With Hammer, Robbed
Deputies looking for suspect in Orion Township assault, robbery.

Oakland County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man accused of attacking a taxi driver with a hammer early Saturday in Orion Township before driving off with the man's cab.
Deputies responded early Saturday to the 2000 block of Cline Court in Orion Township for a report of a taxi driver who was assaulted and robbed. The driver told deputies a passenger exited the taxi, walked over to the driver's side of the vehicle and struck him in the arm and head with a hammer. The man then pushed the driver out of the cab and drove a block away, the driver told deputies.
The driver told deputies the man then returned on foot a short time later and took money from the driver's pocket and fled on foot.

Police dogs were able to track a scent for about a quarter-mile before losing track. The driver refused medical attention.
The suspect is described as a hispanic man, about 5-foot-10, 170 pounds and wearing a jean jacket.
