Alcohol, Drugs Factors In Deadly Wrong-Way Crash Southeast MI Crash: Police

Police said a wrong-way driver collided head-on with a semi truck.

SUPERIOR TOWNSHIP, MI — A 26-year-old Whitmore Lake man was killed in a wrong-way crash on M-14 in Washtenaw County on Monday night, according to Michigan State Police.

The crash happened at 11:05 p.m. on M-14 near Vorhies Road in Superior Township, police said.

Police said the 26-year-old Whitmore Lake man was driving a 2009 Acura MDX west in the eastbound lanes of the freeway when he smashed head-on with a semi truck.

The Whitmore Lake man was killed in the crash, police said.

The driver of the semi truck, a 25-year-old man from Ontario, suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said.

Police believe alcohol and drugs were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
