2012 in Review: 'It's a Wonderful Life' Actress Visits Plymouth

When former actress Virginia Patton—of It's a Wonderful Life fame—told her story about working on the iconic film after attending a screening of the movie at the Penn Theatre in Plymouth in December, it became Plymouth-Canton Patch's most-read story of 2012. 

A report initially aimed at highlighting a unique local story went national shortly after its publication and was featured on the front page of AOL.com, drawing readers from around the country interested in a unique story about one of the actresses from a classic holiday film.

While the whereabouts of Patton, 86, alone make for an interesting story, Patton's details of being cast in a film by one of Hollywood's all-time elite before ultimately deciding to leave Hollywood to start a family in Ann Arbor—a move endorsed by Frank Capra himself—made for a rich and personal story.
