'Art Selfie' Contest Held For Plymouth's Inside/Out
PARC is sponsoring an 'art selfie' contest for the DIA's Inside/Out program in Plymouth.

PLYMOUTH, MI — As part of the Detroit Institute of Arts’ Inside/Out program, the Plymouth Arts and Recreation Complex is holding an "ART Selfie" contest. City officials are encouraging residents and visitors to take a photo of themselves, friends, family members or anyone else with an Inside/Out reproduction and then post it to Facebook or Instagram.
Selfies should be tagged @Plymouth PARC on Instagram and PARC-Plymouth Arts & Recreation Complex on Facebook. PARC’s Marsha Kreza Don’t said posts should be public and include the hashtag #InsideOutPlymouth! Selected selfies will be featured on the DIA Inside|Out Plymouth Facebook page and entered into the finals.
After the contest ends an overall winner will be chosen from the finalists and awarded a prize, Kreza said. A dozen reproductions of art masterpieces are installed at various locations around the community. Plymouth will have the reproductions until July along with 10 other communities.

It’s DIA’s eighth straight year with the popular program. This year, the DIA will expand the number of installation sites from approximately 80 to 120 per three-month season. The DIA is also collaborating with the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History for the first time to include 10 reproductions of objects from their permanent collection.
Another 2017 highlight is a return exhibit at Hines Park that will be installed along a six-mile stretch of Hines Drive, which becomes a motor-vehicle-free area on Saturdays during warmer months.
