Bar Louie Abruptly Closes 2 Metro Detroit Locations: Report

An internal memo cited poor performance for closing down the two locations.

METRO DETROIT — Bar Louie abruptly closed down two metro Detroit locations Sunday.

The gastropub chain closed down its locations in Livonia (Laurel Park Place) and Auburn Hills (Great Lakes Crossing), according to a WXYZ report.

"The decision to close this location is in no way a reflection of you, this team, the management of this location or the potential of the Bar Louie brand," reads an internal memo obtained by the news station. "Making the decision to close a location is never easy but focusing our resources on our higher-performing locations was the responsible approach."

Social media posts circulating online say employees were given little to no warning about the closures.

The chain's locations in Royal Oak, located on Main Street, and the one in Clinton Township, located in the Mall at Partridge Creek, will stay open. Those are the only two locations left in Michigan.
