Buddy's Pizza Set To Open Along Ford Road In Canton Township

CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI — Detroit's Buddy's Pizza is opening along a busy stretch of Ford Road in Canton Township later this month, according to a news release.

The popular pizza restaurant is scheduled to open at 42911 Ford Road, between Morton Taylor and Lilley roads on Monday, Feb. 26, according to the release.

The new carryout only restaurant will feature Buddy's authentic Detroit-Style Pizza and other favorites, including Buddy Bread and the antipasto salad.

To celebrate the grand opening, Buddy's will donate 100 percent of its opening day sales to the Plymouth-Canton Educational Foundation, which is a local non-profit committed to enhancing opportunities for students and staff in Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, according to the release.

There will also be a raffle each day of its opening week to win free Buddy’s Pizza for a year, according to the release.

The new location will be open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.

The new Canton Township location is the 23rd spot in Michigan. There are also nearby restaurants in Farmington Hills, Livonia, Novi and Plymouth Township.

Buddy’s Pizza was founded at the corner of Six Mile Road and Conant Street in Detroit in 1946. Before that, it was a speakeasy known as Buddy’s Rendezvous.
