Canton Fire Crews Extinguish Wednesday Morning House Blaze
House on 46000 block of Spinning Wheel sustains heavy fire and smoke damage, but no injuries reported.

Canton Township firefighters responded early Wednesday to the 46000 block of Spinning Wheel after a 9-1-1 call reporting a house fire, according to a news release from the department.
According to the report, fire crews arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke visible from a tri-level home.
Crews entered the home and found heavy smoke and fire in the kitchen area, but were able to contain the blaze with two hose lines, the news release indicated.

Canton's Fire Investigation Unit determined the cause of the fire to be accidental, the news release indicated.

According to the news release, fire crews initially struggled when working with water and ice during Wednesday morning's below-freezing weather conditions.
The homeowner was alerted to the fire by a smoke detector, the news release indicated, and was able to exit the home safely. No injuries were reported.
