Detroit News Station Opening Coffee Shop In Plymouth

The news station says the one-of-a-kind coffee shop will be a place "where community, connection and trusted journalism come together."

PLYMOUTH, MI — WDIV-TV is partnering with Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Co. to open a coffee shop in metro Detroit.

The new coffee shop, which will be called Fourgrounds, will open this September at the corner of Ann Arbor Trail and Harvey Street in downtown Plymouth.

The news station says the one-of-a-kind coffee shop will be a place "where community, connection and trusted journalism come together." It will feature a full menu of coffee, cold brews and handmade drinks.

"This project is a perfect match for us," said Greg Miracle, President and Founder of Great Lakes Coffee. "Our greatest passion is bringing people together over great coffee, and we’re thrilled to help create a space that keeps Plymouth buzzing with energy, engagement, and local flavor."

The news station will also host events at the coffee shop, including "Coffee with the Newsroom," which will feature Local 4 anchors and reporters and live daily broadcasts of Live in the D.

"We want to be a local news brand that builds community. By creating a space like this where everyone is welcome, we will be more local than ever before, and we believe that means something special," WDIV vice president and general manager Bob Ellis said in the release.
