Free Home Buyers Workshop Held In Plymouth April 17

The Plymouth-based credit union Catholic Vantage Financial is preparing borrowers for home buying season with an upcoming workshop.

PLYMOUTH, MI — With the start of the annual busy home buying season, Catholic Vantage Financial (CVF) is hosting a free Homebuyers Workshop for the community April 17.

Open to the public, the workshop will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the credit union’s Plymouth branch located at 8817 Sheldon Road, at the northwest corner of Sheldon and Joy roads.

A panel of industry experts will walk you through the home buyer process, answering questions and arming attendees with valuable information, organizers say. Experts include Joann Peurach, vice president of lending for Catholic Vantage Financial; Emma Teller, CVF vice president of operations; and Norm Thomas, certified appraiser of R.S. Thomas & Associates.

Topics include what future home buyers need to know before applying for a mortgage; understanding credit and credit scores; differences between rates, points and fees; the importance of a title search; what goes into appraisals and inspections, and other topics.

Refreshments and handouts will be available, too
