Halloween 2017: Plymouth Events Abound

From Scarecrows in the Park to the Pumpkin Palooza, Plymouth is the place to be this Halloween season.

PLYMOUTH, MI — There is certainly no shortage of Halloween-events in Plymouth this fall. From Scarecrows in the Park and Pumpkin Palooza to the Wicked Halloween Run, there something for just about everyone.

Each year, downtown Plymouth is invaded by an army of scarecrows along Main Street. This year, 50 scarecrows will adorn the area in front of Kellogg Park until Halloween.

A short walk down to the Plymouth Historical Museum, Halloween-lovers will find the museum’s new “Haunted Main Street” special exhibit. It’s a combination of new Halloween decorations combined with vintage Halloween collectibles.

Some of the vintage items, loaned by collectors, include a small collection of antique Halloween candy dishes and Jack o’ lanterns; an assortment of vintage postcards; as well as some vintage mourning items. Part of the exhibit focuses on mourning customs during the Victorian era. Be sure to visit the Victorian parlor where there is a wake in progress for Peter Fralick, a Plymouth resident who died in 1867.
