Historic Karl's Cabin In Plymouth Township Announces Reopening Date

The restaurant temporarily​ closed down in February after a devastating fire destroyed a portion of the building.

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI — The historic Karl's Cabin restaurant on the Salem Township/Plymouth Township border has announced its reopening date.

The popular restaurant, located at 6005 Gotfredson Road, announced its reopening Nov. 29. The restaurant, which has served the community for 42 years, temporarily closed down in February after a devastating fire destroyed a portion of the building.

New renovations to the restaurant include a refreshed interior design along with menus that fuse traditional favorites with new dishes, according to a news release.

"During these past nine months, the resilience and dedication of the Karl’s Cabin team have been unwavering, moving past a heart-wrenching event to now a time of excitement and celebration as we greatly anticipate serving the community again, and sharing in the restaurant’s renewed splendor," said Peter Poulos, one of the restaurant’s owners.

Karl’s Cabin will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday. It is recommended to make reservations by either calling 734-455-8450 or doing so online.
