A Livonia woman could face up to life in prison after firing shots at her friend's father over the weekend, prosecutors said.

EASTPOINTE, MI — A Livonia woman could face up to life in prison after firing shots at her friend’s father over the weekend in Macomb County, according to the prosecutor's office.
Kimberly Lozano, 31, was charged with assault with intent to murder, discharging a weapon in a building, resisting arrest and two counts of felony firearm. She was placed in jail with a $350,000 bond. Her next court date is scheduled for Aug. 27.
If convicted, she faces up to life in prison for the assault with intent to murder charge.

Prosecutors said Lozano fired shots at her friend's father after he told her to leave his home in Eastponite on Sunday. Prosecutors said the man was not struck by the gunfire.
"We cannot allow people to settle conflicts with firearms. The moment a weapon is drawn, what could have been a dispute becomes a life-threatening crime. When one person chooses to fire a gun in anger, they place not only the intended target at risk, but others who are nearby. Violence is not a solution; it’s a choice, and it comes with consequences," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said.
