Man Accused Of Stealing Charity Donation Bin At Wal-Mart

The suspect allegedly put the charity bin in his carriage and strolled out of the store.

LIVONIA, MI A Westland man was arrested for allegedly stealing a Children's Miracle donation bin from a Livonia Wal-Mart.

The incident happened on Sept. 20 at the Wal-Mart off Plymouth and Middle Belt roads. 54-year-old Mark Wilson allegedly snatched the three-foot tall Children’s Miracle Network donation canister, put it in a carriage and walked out of the store. While Wilson was loading up his pickup truck, he was confronted by loss prevention officers who seized the canister and called Livonia Police.

Police launched a two-month investigation, and showed up at Wilson's home this week to arrest him. He was arraigned on Nov. 22 on a charge of larceny under $200, a 93 day misdemeanor. Bond was set at $9,000.
