1 Hurt After Driver Strikes Cars Parked Alongside I-275 In Wayne County: Police
Police urged people to stay inside their cars if parked alongside a freeway.

ROMULUS, MI — A man was hit and injured while standing alongside Interstate 275 in Romulus on Sunday, according to Michigan State Police.
The incident happened at 8 p.m. Sunday along northbound Interstate 275 and westbound Interstate 94 in Romulus, police said.
Police said the drivers of a Kia and a Ford were standing outside their cars in an area near the freeway ramp.

A Mazda then cut through the area and smashed into the back of the Kia, pushing it into the Ford, police said.
Police said a man standing outside his car was struck by the Ford. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said.

There were no other injuries in the crash, which was still under investigation, police said.
Police did not say why the drivers of the Kia and a Ford were standing outside their cars before the crash.
"We can’t say this enough, stay inside your vehicle if stopped on the freeway," Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw "It is also important to follow the rules of the road when merging onto to the freeway. The solid white lines mean do not cross. Wait until after the gore to move into travel lane."
