Meet Canton Firefighters at Open House and More This Weekend

1. "Turbo" at the Penn Theatre
- When: Friday, 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 4:45 p.m. and 7 p.m.
- Where: The Penn Theatre, 760 Penniman Avenue, Plymouth
- What: A freak accident might just help an everyday garden snail achieve his biggest dream: winning the Indy 500.
2. Canton Fire Department Open House
- When: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Where: Fire Station No. 1, 1100 S. Canton Center Rd., Canton
- What: Meet your Canton firefighters at the open house on Saturday. The day will include station tours, a fire gear dress-up station, fire safety fun bags for kids, fire prevention handouts, hot dogs and popcorn. The department’s Fire Safety House will also be open for kids to go through.
3. Girls Try Hockey for Free
- When: Sunday, 10 a.m.
- Where: Compuware Arena, 14900 N. Beck Road, Plymouth
- What: Girls from the State Champion Compuware U12 girls team - along with member of the Plymouth Whalers - will assist girls in equipment selection, help them get dressed and fitted for skates.
4. Good Food Gathering
- When: Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Where: The Gathering, downtown Plymouth
- What: Celebrate all things Michigan-made at the Good Food Gathering in Plymouth's downtown gathering space. The open-air autumn market will make the perfect setting to come taste samples and meet the farmers and artisan producers who craft your favorite local foods. Even better? This Good Food Gathering is FREE and open to everyone and anyone! So bring your friends and family for an afternoon of savoring local delicacies, enjoying live music, pumpkin painting for the kiddos, and the chance to win some great prizes from Door to Door Organics!
