Metro Detroit Ice Cream Shop Offering This Odd Flavor For A Limited Time Only

REDFORD, MI — A metro Detroit ice cream shop is serving up an unlikely new flavor this weekend.

Dairy Whip, located at 26215 Plymouth Road in Redford, is offering Mountain Dew soft serve ice cream through Sunday. The "Mountain Moo" is available as a vegan and dairy-free option, or swirl it with vanilla ice cream.

Owner Josh Hutchison told MLive it took more than six attempts to get the flavor just right.

"It’s Mountain Dew with some stabilizers and a few different things," Hutchinson told the outlet. "I finally got the consistency to be perfect. There’s no cream to it, but it comes out and tastes just like ice cream."

The ice cream shop offers more than 40 ice cream flavors, along with floats, flurries, shakes, sundaes and slushies. It’s open from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
