New Portillo's Restaurant Coming To Metro Detroit

Portillo's, known for their Chicago-style hot dogs, is planning to open a new restaurant in Wayne County.

The new 7,900 square-foot restaurant will feature a garage-themed design with a dining room that sits up to more than 175 customers. There will also be a seasonal outdoor patio with room for roughly 50 additional guests.

LIVONIA, MI — Portillo's, known for their Chicago-style hot dogs, is planning to open a new restaurant in Wayne County.

The new restaurant will be in Livonia's Millenium Park, located at the intersection of Interstate 96 and Middlebelt Road, the company announced Monday.

The new 7,900 square-foot restaurant will feature a garage-themed design with a dining room that sits up to more than 175 customers. There will also be a seasonal outdoor patio with room for roughly 50 additional guests.

The new restaurant will also feature Portillo's pick-up area as well as it's signature double drive-thru lanes.

"Once we open, we hope you'll cake shake your way in to enjoy our signature menu items like Chicago-Style Hot Dogs, Famous Italian Beef Sandwiches, Char-Grilled Burgers and Portillo’s Famous Chocolate Cake," the restaurant said in a statement.

The restaurant did not reveal an exact opening date or timeframe, other than "coming soon." The only other Portillo's in Michigan is located in Sterling Heights.
